The Domba dance is a ritual dance performed by young Venda females. It is a customary initiation rite or coming of age and is performed during the ceremony at which the chief chooses a wife.
The Domba Dance is often referred to as the python dance dance because the movements resemble that of a large snake, as the young initiates dance and sing around a fire.
